1. Gestural Drawing-Kate Westfall





               The purpose of gestural drawings is to covey a body in motion or an action.  This drawing represents a gesture drawing to me because the action the model is performing shows tension if areas of the body such as the arch of the back.  I also think this piece is a gestural piece because it is not at all detailed and seems like it could have been done quickly but you are still able to see parts of the body such as ribs and arm muscles, defined solely by lines that almost appear to be scribbles.
